A 17 year old from Motueka was flown to Nelson hospital at 1436 today 1 September 2010 by the Summit Rescue Helicopter. The accident occurred near the Motueka wharf.

The Bay of Plenty District Health Board has received a sudden increase in the number of people including children coming to Tauranga Hospital with influenza symptoms. This sudden increase is causing delays for patients requiring non-emergency treatment.
