Appeal for information after arrest of 56-year-old man in Timaru

Police are appealing for information from the public after the arrest of a 56-year-old man in Timaru last week.

A 56-year-old Timaru man from the South Canterbury Olympic Wrestling Club has been charged with indecent assault and two counts of having indecent communication with a young person under 16.

The man was arrested on 10 April and is currently remanded in custody until 9 May.

Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested said the inquiry is ongoing and Police would like to hear from anyone who has any information that could assist the inquiry.

It is also possible there are further victims and we urge anyone with information to contact Police.
