There will be no Kerbside rubbish and recycling collections on Easter Monday (22 April), so collections across the district will be one day later that week. There will be collections on ANZAC Day (25 April) but the crews will work around Dawn Parades and services so as not to disrupt them.

Check our website for the Kerbside schedule for your area: www.tcdc.govt.nz/kerbside.

Please put your blue, official Council pre-paid rubbish bags out on the kerbside with your recycling wheelie bin and glass recycling crate - if it’s your week for recycling - by 7:30am on your collection day.

Next week is Week 1 in our fortnightly recycling collection schedule. The address sticker on your wheelie bin has the number 1 or 2 next to your collection day - that number is your recycling week.

Bags left hanging from trees or poles or left in cages will not be collected. If pests ripping bags open are a problem in your area, consider a gullinator, a sturdy mesh sack that sits over the rubbish bag. Gullinators are available at our Council service centres for $15.

Please do not put rubbish bags on top of recycling wheelie bins. This causes delays to collections while drivers remove them. Instead, put rubbish bags on top of your glass recycling crate if you'd prefer not to leave them on the ground.

If you’re leaving town before your collection day, take your blue rubbish bags and recycling to any of our seven Refuse Transfer Stations (RTS) for no charge. The Matarangi, Tairua, Pauanui and Whangamata RTSs have 24/7 drop-off facilities for blue rubbish bags and recycling.

Our RTSs are all closed on Good Friday but are open until 5:30pm on Easter Monday and from 1pm to 5:30pm on ANZAC Day.

Locations and hours for all our RTS are on our website at: www.tcdc.govt.nz/rts.
