New lighting, footpaths, stairs, lawns, planting, and a new tiled entry off Bank Street will be ready for people attending this year’s ANZAC Day ceremony.

The work carried out by Robinson Asphalts, McKay Electrical, Vision Tilers and Dr Rock of Rock Civil Contracting, has brought the top half of Laurie Hall Park up to the standard of the new cenotaph that was completed in time for the WW1 Centenary commemorations in 2014.

About 7,000 people are expected at the parade and ceremony starting before dawn on Thursday 25 April, and services will also be held at Hukerenui, Maungakaramea, Waipu, Maungatapere, Hikurangi, Whananaki School and Ngunguru.
