Man arrested following Invercargill search

A 35-year-old man will appear in Invercargill District Court tomorrow following an arrest in Grasmere, Invercargill, this afternoon.

The man had been sought by Police during the execution of a warrant to arrest in the Grasmere area this morning.

He was unable to be located during the execution of that warrant, and a search was undertaken.

During the search cordons were put in place and the Police dog unit was deployed to track the man.

The man was subsequently spotted by members of the public this afternoon and taken into custody around 3:30pm.

Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance during this incident.

Police would also like to hear from anyone who may have found items discarded by the man in the Grasmere area.

The man is due to appear in Invercargill District Court tomorrow.
