It will be a night of celebration for a lucky Powerball player from Whangaparaoa after winning a life-changing $18.2 million with Powerball First Division in tonight’s live Lotto draw.

The winning ticket was sold at Gulf Harbour Four Square in Whangaparaoa.

The $18.2 million prize is made up of $18 million from Powerball First Division and $200,000 from Lotto First Division.

Four other Lotto players from Auckland, Taupo, Wellington and Christchurch will also be celebrating after each winning $200,000 with Lotto First Division tonight.

The winning Lotto tickets were sold at Paper Plus Taupo in Taupo, Pak N Save Kilbirnie in Wellington, Pak N Save Riccarton in Christchurch, and on MyLotto to a player from Auckland.

Meanwhile, Strike Four rolled over tonight and will be $300,000 on Wednesday night.

This year is shaping up to be a lucky one for Powerball players, with Powerball First Division being struck 15 times in 2019 to date - and the year is far from over.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of their ticket and check it immediately in-store at any Lotto shop, online at or through the Lotto NZ App.

Players can phone Lotto NZ on 0800 695 6886 if they want to enquire about the best way to claim a prize.
