Grey District Council is delighted to announce that Paul Morris has been appointed as the new Chief Executive. Paul will commence in the new role in March and will be taking over from current Chief Executive Officer, Paul Pretorius, who is retiring at the end of March 2020 and will have been in the role for 22 years.

Mr Morris moved to Greymouth in June 2019 to take up the position of Corporate Services Manager with Council and he says he is very excited about now taking on the role of Chief Executive.

Before his current role with the Grey District Council, Paul spent 11.5 years with Mackenzie District Council as Group Manager, Finance and Commercial. His career also includes 10 years in the electricity industry, both in New Zealand and Australia, and financial positions in software companies.

Paul is joined in Greymouth by his wife, Heather. He has three grown up children, all in New Zealand, and four grand-children, soon to be five. He is looking forward to settling in Greymouth, making a life here and exploring the Coast.
