Someone in the small town of Takaka will be celebrating tonight after winning just over $7 million, including all the prizes, with Big Wednesday First Division.

The winning ticket was sold at Takaka Fresh Choice.

The ticket holder won $7 million with Big Wednesday First Division and $47,042 with Big Wednesday Second Division.

"Big Wednesday offers our players the chance to win the ultimate luxury lifestyle," said Head of Corporate Communications Emilia Mazur.

"Tonight someone has collected the jackpot and now we’re looking forward to meeting our latest big winner and sharing in their excitement."

This is the second time in 2014 so far that the Big Wednesday jackpot has been struck - and both times in the South Island. In February, a Kaikoura couple won $8.5 million with Big Wednesday First and Second Division.

Anyone who bought their Big Wednesday ticket from Takaka Fresh Choice should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet or online at MyLotto.co.nz.

The Lotto Powerball jackpot is at $7.5 million for this weekend.
