This year is the 90th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, which symbolised the end of World War One.
To commemorate the occasion a service will be held at the Bridge of Remembrance on Armistice Day, Tuesday November 11, at 11am. Dean of Christchurch Peter Beck, the President of the Christchurch RSA Russell Barron, and the Mayor Bob Parker will address the service, and wreaths will be laid.
There will also be New Zealand Armed Services, Government and Consular representatives present at the service.
Following the service lunch will be available at the Christchurch RSA, 74 Armagh Street, for $12.
The public are encouraged to attend to commemorate this important day.
