Hamilton Police are currently reviewing security footage as they seek to identify those responsible for the aggravated robbery of a City service station early this morning.
Two men managed to force their way into the Caltex service station on Avalon Dr about 2am after the sole-charge male attendant allowed another man into the store to use an ATM machine.
As things turned out the pair, who forced their way in as the doors were closing, were associates of the man wanting to use the money machine and the trio proceeded to punch and kick the attendant before making off with cigarettes, tobacco, cigars and cash.
A fourth man was unable to gain entry before the doors closed.
The group fled the store on foot and were tracked for a short distance by a responding Police Dog and handler before their trail was lost.
