Wellington, March 5 NZPA - A Christchurch man who allegedly knocked himself out during a bungled burglary of a Christchurch house today elected to stand trial.

Brett Peter Kerr, 28, unemployed, is accused of burgling the house in Prebbleton, southwest of Christchurch, and intentionally damaging the property.

In Christchurch District Court today, he was remanded to a pre-depositions conference session on April 2, the Christchurch News website reported.

Kerr was arrested on January 28 when a couple checked the house belonging to family members away on holiday.
