The Hon. Dr Pita Sharples headlines this Friday's Awards & Recognitions event, which opens Destiny's Annual Labour Weekend Conference for 2010. Commencing at 7:30pm on Friday (22nd October), the Awards & Recognitions event celebrates standout achievements of selected members within the movement. This year's categories include business, management, the health and social services sectors, Pacific arts, family breakthrough and contribution to at-risk youth. Additional highlights include performances from Destiny's kapa haka and pacific groups, and keynote speaker Hon. Dr Sharples.

Visionary and founder, Bishop Brian Tamaki, will be the keynote 'preacher' over the course of the weekend, which includes Destiny's premier men's event 'Momentum' on Saturday at 10am, and then corporate meetings at 7pm Saturday, and Sunday at 10am and 6pm. Ps Hannah Tamaki will headline Destiny's ladies event at 1pm on Saturday.

The annual Labour Weekend conferences are the highlight of the church calendar and set the pace and direction for the next 12 months. "I'm incredibly proud of what Destiny Church has achieved in the 12 short years since our conception. We have a compelling vision to build a significant and enduring work to ensure our children and future generations can grow from a position of strength. This conference is a very important part of that," says Bishop Tamaki.
