Avid artist, and Downtown Community Ministry service user, Lynda Nelson shares the Vincents Gallery space next week for an exhibition lasting till the end of the month.

Co exhibiting with Colin Korovin, Lynda is a regular at Vincents weekday art classes and looking forward to showcasing her diverse work. She says, "I've got a bit of a mix there, I guess, some clay models, pencil drawings and oils".

While Colin's images contain celestial ideas Lynda's concentrate on the land and the many living creatures around us. "I'm fixated on horses at the moment. One of my works is of a foal shortly after birth finding the strength to stand."

Others are more peculiar and aim to bring smiles to those looking. "Many of my pieces bring out my mood at the time and my sense of humour. I really want people to enjoy what they see and go away happier."

Lynda has been on DCM's banking programme for a number of years and also receives advocacy support when she needs it. "Janice gives me a hand anytime I need help with surprise bills or financial things I don't understand," she says.

Prices are mostly below $50, "at prices people can afford," so everyone get something.

The exhibition opens Wednesday 16th at 5:30pm at Vincents Gallery on Level 4, 84 Willis St and runs till 30th September.
