Back To Holidays For Millionaire Lotto Winner

A Lotto player in Pakuranga may be considering extending or going back on holiday to enjoy more of the summer weather after becoming New Zealand's newest millionaire in tonight's Lotto draw, says NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.

"There won't be any back-to-work blues for this lucky person, they may even decide not to go back to work for a bit longer if they're still on holiday!" says Mr McLeay.

Their winning ticket was sold at Ti Rakau Superette in Pakuranga, Auckland.

Lotto Powerball has jackpotted this week, and will be worth an estimated $9 million in next Saturday's draw.

A single winner also took out Lotto Strike tonight, with a lucky player who bought their ticket from Meadowlands Lotto in Manukau winning $165,901.

Meanwhile, Huia Flint from Rotorua was tonight's third big winner after spinning up $1,000 a week for three years on Lotto's Winning Wheel.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was won by a player who bought their ticket from Woolston Supervalue in Christchurch. The serial number is 542-56648194-20XX.

"Anyone who bought a ticket at any of our winning retailers should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it as soon as possible," Mr McLeay says.
