Hamilton Police investigating the killing of a man outside his Chartwell home last month arrested two more people this morning and charged them with murder.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Nigel Keall said the arrest of the 17 and 26-year-old men brings the total number of people charged with the murder of Jaycee Dallas Van Der Drift to three.

"A 26-old-man has already been charged with Mr Van Der Drift's murder which happened in the driveway of the victim's Belmont Ave home early in the morning of 19 November.

"That man appeared in the Hamilton District Court on 20 November and the two men arrested today will appear in the same court this afternoon."

Mr Keall said these latest arrests were as a result of sound investigative work following up good support provided to the inquiry team by local residents.

The forensic analysis of items recovered during the course of the investigation is still to be completed before officers can determine which was the murder weapon.

Mr Keall said Police were not looking for other items connected to the inquiry.
