A post-mortem is being carried out today on the body of a woman who died in a house fire at Stourbridge Street, Spreydon, yesterday afternoon.

Christchurch police say the woman has not been able to be idenitified through usual means, and formal identification may take some days.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing, but police say initial indications are that the fire is not suspicious.
