Wellington, March 3 NZPA - On February 27 and 28, NZPA ran stories incorrectly reporting the Court of Appeal had overturned convictions and fines imposed on Carter Holt Harvey and a number of its executives for breaches of the Fair Trading Act.

In fact, that criminal proceeding was not before the Court of Appeal. It heard a civil proceeding brought by the Commerce Commission, which was seeking compensation for those who suffered loss as a result of Carter Holt's breach of the Act.

It was that proceeding which was struck out for being out of time.
