Auckland, Jan 19 NZPA - Motorists are being urged to wear gloves to protect themselves against getting skin cancer.
The Cancer Society said it was a myth that closed car windows protected against the sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation which could cause malignant melanoma and other skin cancers, The New Zealand Herald reported
The society said plain, clear vehicle glass blocked only 37 percent of UV-A radiation.
The main risk came from long or frequent trips exposed to sun through side windows.
