Two middle aged women from Papakura will face drug charges after armed police raided Papakura and Takanini properties yesterday. These properties had links to a local Organised Crime group.
Twenty CIB and uniformed staff from Papakura, assisted by members of the Auckland Armed Offenders Squad (AOS), entered three properties in Takanini and Papakura.
Counties Manukau Detective Senior Sergeant Albie Alexander said, "The AOS-assisted search at the three addresses went without incident".
A quantity of cannabis, methamphetamine and chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine was located. A large amount of stolen goods were also located at one of the properties along with a loaded .22 pistol and a small quantity of ammunition.
A moderate amount of cash was also seized from two of the addresses.
Information received from the public via the newly initiated Crimestoppers anonymous reporting line assisted Police in gathering the information to prepare and execute yesterday's search warrants.
"Recovering stolen property valued at approximately $15,000 and taking drugs and firearms off the streets points to the success that Crimestoppers is having", said Detective Senior Sergeant Alexander.
