Escaped Prisoner Arrested

Te Awamutu Detectives and Rotorua Police have apprehended Robert John WIKAERE, who had escaped from Waikeria Prison on 17 March.

WIKAERE was arrested without incident at a Rotorua property at approximately 2pm this afternoon.

He will be appearing at Rotorua District Court tomorrow morning.
