A website gaining a lot of attention of recent has been found to be fake and malicious.

The site www.bishoptamaki.org.nz has been the source of commentary by Brian Rudman in the NZ Herald today.

Church spokesman Richard Lewis says enquiries with the internet provider have seen the site suspended.

"Unfortunately the site has been used by some commentators as a source for reporting which is unhelpful. Hopefully reporters will be little more discerning in future," he added.

The church is aware of numerous sites that are fake and intended to mislead.
