A Canadian couple will be upgrading their flight home to first class after winning a $200,000 share of last weekend's Lotto First Division prize, says NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.

The happy winners, who bought their ticket at Take Note Whitianga, have been on a five week tour of New Zealand, and were heading to Wellington to catch the ferry anyway, so decided to come to the office to claim their prize.

"We checked our tickets on the internet and found out we were winners, so put the ticket in a safe place and headed down here in our campervan.

"After finding out about the win, we thought about staying in a hotel, but our campervan beds are so comfy we're going to stick with it - but we're definitely going to fly home first class next week," say the winners.

The couple, who come from the eastern Canadian province of New Brunswick, say they love New Zealand so much they had planned on coming back for another long holiday at some stage - and now they can back sooner than expected.

"This trip has been amazing, and this win is really going to make a difference when we get home. We'll be telling everyone to visit New Zealand - and to buy a Lotto ticket when they get here!"

A New Plymouth syndicate and Gore winner have claimed their share of last weekend's First Division Lotto prize, with winners from Manukau and Christchurch yet to come forward.
