TaupÅ District Council awarded the contract for the Lake Terrace to Titoki Reservoir watermain as part of the TaupÅ Water Treatment Plant upgrade at the 30 October Council meeting.
The tender was awarded to Downer NZ, which won it with a bid of $1.725 million. The submission was the lowest priced bid and was evaluated as having the highest overall score.
The project includes constructing a new 500mm diameter dedicated rising main from Lake Terrace to Titoki Reservoir, while a short section of the existing 300mm PVC watermain along Lake Terrace will provide water to homes.
The work, due to begin in December 2012, is part of the upgrade of the TaupÅ Water Treatment Plant. Funding for the work was allocated in Council’s 2010/11 TaupÅ Water Treatment Capital Works Budget. The project is a multi-year project with an overall budget of $27.4 million.
