The 5-year-old girl mauled by two dogs in the eastern Bay of Plenty last week was discharged home to Whakatane from Waikato Hospital at the weekend. The girl suffered multiple injuries to the face and body when a pitbull and a staffordshire bull terrier attacked her.
Waikato Hospital plastic surgery specialist Adam Greenbaum, a registrar and plastics team performed a 10-hour operation through the night to repair the damage.
