Hundreds of teams compete. Hundreds of thousands watch. But there can be only one winner....
WRITE. SHOOT. CUT. SURVIVE
The 'V' Energy 48HOURS: Furious Filmmaking is back for more excitement and chaos in 2009.
The chance of fame and fortune, or at the very least one very memorable weekend is an opportunity that sees many established filmmakers along with gung ho first-timers entering the fracas.
Filmmakers have to create an entire short film from scratch in less than 48 hours.
'V' Energy 48HOURS director Ant Timpson calls this wildly successful annual event "The number one talent incubator in New Zealand. So watch this space for the future stars of the small and big screen to make their presence known. "
Over eight thousand cast and crew will participate this year with their short films shown in cinemas throughout New Zealand. The winning shorts from each city will finally compete against Peter Jackson's Wildcard picks during a C4 Television special and one film will finally be crowned, Grand National Champ 2009.
Also for the second year running filmmakers have got the chance to enter the 'V' Energy 48 Seconds warm up competition. For anyone with access to any old camera, (including mobile phones) they can take part simply by recreating a famous movie scene in all its glory. Featuring V cans or V bottles. Prizes include cash, V product, iPod's and more.
