The broad-scale rain, associated with a complex trough currently lying over the country, has now moved away to the east. However, lines of active showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to continue to pass east over the Taranaki and Waitomo region tonight and Wednesday. Localised heavy falls of 10-20mm/hr are possible in isolated thunderstorms.
