Wellington, Jan 21 NZPA - Using scissors and a photocopier to make fake documents has led to home detention and community work for a mortgage broker.
Krishna Veni, 43, was sentenced to 12 months' home detention and 100 hours' community work when she appeared in Wellington District Court this morning, The Dominion Post reported.
Veni secured more than $15 million in mortgages by doctoring applications for 66 Wizard Home Loans clients, making more than $80,000 in commission.
Veni's lawyer, Robert Lithgow QC, told the court she was remorseful but her actions had been for the good of the applicants.
