Members of the public have the chance to view the stunning display of the revamped Lucy Cole Rose Gardens at Mitchell Park while enjoying free entertainment from local jazz trio Steeling Wrats this Saturday.
Hutt City Council in association with Te Omanga Hospice is holding an open day between 11am and 3pm to show off the new look of the Lucy Cole garden, named after former councillor Lucy Cole.
"The development of the Lucy Cole rose garden makes it a great place for families to visit with a picnic for the afternoon," says Mayor David Ogden.
Stalls run by volunteers will sell collector Christmas items and gift ideas from $5-$25 with all proceeds going to the Te Omanga Hospice.
Delicious nibbles from Janus Bakkerij will also be available for a gold coin donation to the Te Omanga Hospice and Mitchell Park Squash Club are opening their bar so you can enjoy a refreshing drink.
Parking is available for visitors of the event at the Hutt Bowling Club, Mitchell Street entrance.
Visitors can also have a look at the newly refurbished Hutt Valley Tennis court surfacing and the Naenae Bowling Club between the rose gardens and the Hutt Hospital.
