Wellington, Feb 5 NZPA - Police have charged a Kawerau man over the murder of 16-year-old Jordan Herewini.
The 32-year-old was arrested today and will appear in Rotorua District Court tomorrow, charged with murder, injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary and participating in a criminal group.
It was likely he would face further charges, said Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Loper, of Rotorua CIB.
Jordan was run down and killed by a Toyota ute stolen from his family home in Murupara, 63km southeast of Rotorua, on January 27.
Police were still making inquiries into Jordan's death and there could be as many as 12 secondary offenders, Mr Loper said.
