A man who collapsed and died in Levin as he was about to be arrested on Wednesday (8 February) can now be named as 65-year-old Godfrey Easton.
A post mortem is still to be held to establish cause of death.
The matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Authority which it is standard practice when a person dies immediately following any form of contact with the Police.
