Navy Ships Return Home In Mini Fleet Entry

Navy Tanker, HMNZS ENDEAVOUR and Navy Diving Tender HMNZS MANAWANUI accompanied into port by In Shore Patrol Vessels, HMNZ Ships PUKAKI and ROTOITI return home to the Devonport Naval Base at 10:00 am on Friday 27 November. The four ships will make a spectacular sight as they round North Head at 9:15 am in formation prior to entering the Waitemata Harbour.

The order of the fleet entry will be - HMNZS ENDEAVOUR, HMNZS MANAWANUI, HMNZS ROTOITI and HMNZS PUKAKI.

HMNZS ENDEAVOUR returns after spending three months on deployment in South East Asia. This is the second deployment to Asia and South East Asia this year having returned from the last deployment at the beginning of July.

ENDEAVOUR, along with the frigate HMNZS TE MANA, has been taking part in a series of international defence exercises involving ships and personnel from eight countries. These exercises tested our ability to work with other nations in challenging scenarios, reflective of the real-world environment.

During the course of her deployment, ENDEAVOUR, with her crew of 48, conducted port visits to Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. This included the first visit of an RNZN warship to Jakarta, Indonesia in over 14 years.

Commander of HMNZS ENDEAVOUR, Commander Dave Toms says, "ENDEAVOUR returns home after a successful three month deployment exercising in South East Asia. I am proud of the accomplishments of the ship and her crew over this time, and I know that many of the crew are looking forward to spending well deserved time with our families once again".

where she worked alongside HMNZS RESOLUTION as well as French, Australian and United States Navy ships and personnel to dispose of World War Two mines from within the lagoon in the vicinity of Noumea.

HMNZS ROTOITI returns home from a month long operational deployment around the coastlines of New Zealand and HMNZS PUKAKI returns home after a short period of sea trials.
