25 May 2009 - Pieter Burghout, Chief Executive of the Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ) will act as Chair of the Construction Industry Council for three to six months while a review of the Council's role and structure is completed and a new Chair can be elected.
Pieter has previously been CEO of the Registered Master Builders Federation and the Building & Construction Industry Training Organisation.
The Construction Industry Council is a forum for the building and construction sector to work on sector-wide issues and promote its interests to government.
The previous Chair of the Council, Richard Michael, stepped down in April.
