New Season - New Dress For Stella's Tennis Girl

This week the young Danish tennis sensation Caroline Wozniacki presents her new spring/summer 2010 outfit at the first Tennis Grand Slam Tournament of the year in Melbourne. Caroline starts the new year as the No. 4 player in the Sony Ericsson WTA ranking and has been the new exclusive face for the adidas by Stella McCartney tennis collection since the US Open in August 2009, where she played the finals for the first time in her young tennis career.

"I started wearing adidas by Stella McCartney at the US Open last year and I reached my first career Grand Slam final. After that I completed the year strong and finished 2009 as the No. 4 ranked player in the world. So to say that I'm happy with the new line would be an understatement. I really do feel that looking your best on the court and feeling good about yourself is an important factor in how you play. I have had great results wearing Stella's adidas tennis line and I plan to continue to be even more successful in 2010. Wait until you see what I'm wearing in Australia, it will be the best yet and I'm so excited," says Caroline Wozniacki.

Stella McCartney comments "It's very rare for a fashion designer to dress one of the top 10 players in the world. I couldn't be more thrilled and happy to be given that opportunity. Lets hope this will enhance her performance!"

Entering her second season in adidas by Stella McCartney, Caroline will be wearing on court highlight pieces of tennis apparel and footwear from the new spring/summer 2010 sporty and fashionable adidas by Stella McCartney ss10 tennis collection. Caroline's on-court outfit features the Tennis Performance Dress (Art. No. P98386) in "alloy", a fresh light colour for the spring season. The dress includes adidas CLIMALITE® technology with special materials and mesh panels on the sides for optimum ventilation, keeping Caroline's body dry while she performs. The design features new spring floral motifs on the front with decorative baby flatlocks at all stitchings.

Caroline also wears the Performance Hot Pant and Bra in seed pearl and the Tennis Performance Jacket (Art. No. P98378) in slate green with biker-style design elements such as diagonal zippers, chunky pockets, shoulder flaps and a biker-style belt to contrast the feminine floral motif on the dress. She also wears an organic cotton visor (Art. No. P98511) in white, white wristbands (Art. No. P98508) and the Lucrari Tennis Performance Shoe (Art. No. G19417) in running white, aluminium and apollo. The shoe is based on the renowned adidas Barricade V tooling which provides the perfect mix of midfoot stability, flexibility and cushioning for maximum comfort, set in place through several well-known adidas technologies (adiPRENE®, adiPRENE+®, adiWEAR® 6, TORSION® SYSTEM). When Caroline steps on court she brings along the Delibuta Tennis Bag (Art. No. V00934) in which she keeps all her gear and lucky charms from her friends and family.

Caroline Wozniacki has been part of the adidas Player Development Program since 2007. The program helps nurture young talents with a unique mix of advice and support giving an extra helping hand to build a career. The service strives to complement the player's own team with additional advice, coaching and motivation.

The spring/summer 2010 tennis collection hits retail in January 2010, including high-end department stores - such as Lane Crawford, Isetan, Harrods, Holt Renfrew and Nordstrom - as well as adidas online stores, adidas Sport Performance stores and selected sports retailers all around the world.
