The New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) welcomes the appointment of Chai Chuah to the post of National Director of the new National Health Board.
Mr Chuah is well known to the NZNO. "Nurses have had a long, constructive and respectful relationship with Mr Chuah, and we look forward to continuing working positively together," said NZNO President, Nano Tunnicliff.
"Mr Chuah has in-depth knowledge and awareness of the health sector having been the chief executive of Hutt Valley District Health Board for eight years,"
"Nurses do have some concern and apprehension regarding how the National Health Board will function and how its work will impact on them,"
"We look forward to working closely with Mr Chuah to address our members issues and to ensure the new National Health Board meets the future needs of health care provision in New Zealand and those working and receiving care on the front line," said Tunnicliff.
