RadioLIVE News has appointed Melanie Jones as its new Director of News and Sport.

RadioLIVE Director of Programming, Mitch Harris, said it was a new position created to deal with the growth of the RadioLIVE News Service.

"Our news requirements have grown considerably since the advent of RadioLIVE and B Sport Radio and Melanie has a great track record of competing vigorously and breaking stories," said Mr Harris.

Melanie Jones is a former Executive Director of One News, Director of 60 Minutes and Editor of New Idea. Ms Jones said she was delighted to be leading a dynamic and growing team and expected RadioLIVE News to set the pace.

Kevin Hercock retains his position as News Editor and will continue to lead the team in breakfast.
