Wellington, Oct 14 NZPA - A star-studded line-up of performers will take the stage in Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre on Labour Day (Oct 26) to raise money for victims of the tsunami that devastated Samoa last month.

Confirmed acts include Oscar Kightley, Savage, the Yandall Sisters, Scribe, Aaradhna, Adeaze, Teuila Blakely, Laughing Samoans, Ruia Aperahama, Bella Kalolo, Iva Lamkum, TJ Taotua, Rosita, Ben Makisi, Beatrootz, Mission, Musical Island Boys and the Legacy Dance Company. The concert is part of a nationwide series of, "I Love the Islands" Samoa Relief Concerts.

It has been made possible by help from Wellington City Council, the Samoan Advisory Council, Wellington City Council Pacific Advisory Group and Air New Zealand.

"We have been overwhelmed by support, not just physical but also emotional and spiritual support," said organising committee member, Pati Umaga.

"Right now, our people just need resources to get on their feet again, they are resilient and will face this challenge but definitely need our help to be able to do that."

All funds raised concerts will be administered by the Pacific Music Awards Trust and allocated to the Samoa Tsunami 2009 Appeal Charitable Trust.

Samoa was devastated by huge waves which struck on September 29 following a massive earthquake.

More than 150 people, including eight New Zealanders, died in Samoa, Tonga and American Samoa.
