Six Years For War Medals Burglary

Wellington, Oct 22 NZPA - A man has been jailed for six years for the theft of war medals from the Waiouru Army Museum.

The man, who has name suppression, appeared in Auckland District Court today for sentencing, after pleading guilty to burglary last month.

The charge relates to the theft of 96 medals, including nine Victoria Crosses, from the museum in December 2007.
