A post mortem is being conducted today on the skeletal remains which were found by Police investigating Harold Skudder's disappearance.
Detective Inspector Shane Cotter says Identification of the remains will take approximately one week to complete.
Scene examinations at a Lower Hutt address and at Moonshine Hill Road where the remains were found were completed by teams working during the weekend.
Detective Inspector Cotter says the investigation continues to make progress and he is interested to hear from anyone with information that is yet to come forward.
Anyone with information about Harold Skudder's disappearance is asked to contact Lower Hutt Police.
