Sky Television App Tops 50,000 Downloads In First 4 Weeks

SKY Television has been delighted with the positive response to its latest product launch, the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch app which shot straight to the number one spot upon launch.

Customer downloads exceeded 50,000 in just four weeks, placing it in the number one spot for free apps for 8 days on the iPhone and 12 days on the iPad during its first weeks. It has remained in the top 10 since. The most popular features have been browsing the guide, setting programme alerts and the remote record functionality.

The Throng website quoted the app as being 'just about perfect', while another individual user said "I can't believe they got it 100% right the first time. Easy to use, everything works!"

The app exceeded the forecast number of downloads in its first month and gained a very respectable user rating of 4.5 stars, delighting SKY's Marketing Manager Chaz Savage who said,

"We are thrilled at the response to our app, not only has the number of downloads exceeded expectations but we have been receiving a large number of very positive comments from users letting us know how useful they find it. We are now focused on the next release which will offer many new features, a number of them stemming directly from customer feedback. While the new feature set is still being finalised we will definitely be offering an Android version in the near future", he said.

The SKY Television app is available in the Apple store to download, search for SKY TV or text SKY to 898.
