A front in north Canterbury is forecast to move north and reach central New Zealand tonight. The front should bring a change to strong cold southerlies, reaching gale for a time.
Strong southerlies could gust to severe gale for a time about coastal Marlborough, especially the Kaikoura Coast, between 6 and 8pm and Wellington between 8 and 10pm.
