22 May 2009 - The revelation that, according to the Commerce Commission, the major electricity generators have over charged consumers some $4 billion is evidence of a major breakdown in the industry according to former MP & Kiwi Party energy spokesperson Gordon Copeland. There is an old saying to the effect that "if aint broke don't fix it", said Mr Copeland, "but the corollary to that is "if it is broke then fix it & fix it fast!". That is exactly what the Government must now do. They must not allow kiwi households, including our senior citizens, to shiver through another winter knowing all the while that they are paying way too much for their electricity"
