Auckland, Sept 9 NZPA - A man charged with two counts of aggravated robbery in Miranda on the Firth of Thames is to stand trial next year.
Michael Thomas Metera, 43, appeared at the Manukau District Court today for a callover.
He was remanded in custody to reappear in court for a pre-trial hearing on March 10 next year.
Metera will also have a second callover on April 28. His trial date has been set for May 2.
The victims, a mother and daughter, were attacked while sleeping at a rural property in Miranda, about 11.30pm on March 17.
They were detained and restrained using tape and cloth, while their house was ransacked.
Jewellery, bank cards, a cellphone and other personal items were taken.
