At approximately 6.40am a two vehicle crash on State Highway 2, Nukuhou near Glenholme Road was reported to police.
There have been two fatalities and the road is completely blocked. Emergency Services are in attendence and Police Specialist Crash Investigators are on scene.
Diversions are in place at the Taneatua Squash Club near the Pikatahi Bridge, and at Wainui Road at the junction with State Highway 2.
Diversions will be in place for some time.
