Wellington, Oct 15 NZPA - Laboratory testing service Diagnostic Medlab will resume some services on Monday a year after losing the Auckland contract.
Replacement service Labtests' takeover has been riddled by problems and earlier this week Auckland Regional District Health Boards (ARDHB) transferred 10 percent of the contract back to Diagnostic Medlabs.
The company will cover testing services for private hospitals, private specialists, home visits requested by private specialists, fertility treatment and rest homes.
Labtests will provide all other testing services.
"The message for the public is very simple," ARDHB chairman Pat Snedden said.
"If your GP or midwife sends you for a blood test go to Labtests. If your private specialist sends you for a blood test go to Diagnostic Medlab."
