Visionstream Starts Work Early In North Shore And Waitakere

Telecom service partner Visionstream will take over Chorus field service operations in the North Shore and Waitakere ahead of schedule, with owner-operators lined up and eager to start work installing and repairing customer phone and broadband services in the area.

"With Visionstream recruitment progressing well, we decided to bring the transition of those areas forward by three weeks so that customers benefit from the service company changes we've made as quickly as possible," said Chorus CEO, Mark Ratcliffe.

Visionstream will start managing North Shore operations on September 7 and the Waitakere on September 14. Field technicians employed by the previous operator have received notice of their last working days on September 6 and 13, but will still receive their entitled salaries to September 27 so that the existing field force in the area are not disadvantaged by the earlier transition.

With Visionstream's initial success in Counties Manukau, where they have already taken over repair work, Chorus are confident they have the resources and capability to quickly address service delays some customers may have experienced, following recent industrial action.

Mr Ratcliffe also said; "The take up of the Visionstream offer demonstrates the great opportunities for our workforce to build a successful business for themselves and help us deliver excellent service to our customers."
