Visionstream Starts Work In Northland

Northland residents and businesses will now benefit from even better field services with Visionstream, Telecom's new service partner, installing and repairing phone and internet services.

Chorus CEO Mark Ratcliffe said they are confident that Visionstream will quickly address any service delays in Northland based on the impressive early results of their performance in Auckland. "We're seeing increased productivity from the owner operators who have started work. In just three weeks, Visionstream has repaired more than 2,800 faults and restored service times in some places to within 24hrs. They've connected more than 570 new telephone and broadband services in the North Shore alone" said Mr Ratcliffe.

Visionstream says that their new owner-operators are expecting increased earnings based on the work they have completed.

"This is a great opportunity for our workforce to build a successful business for themselves. Visionstream have told us of instances where brothers have set up business together, owner-operators employing wives and relatives to do the books, and people moving to Northland to sign-up" said Mr Ratcliffe.

With Visionstream operations in place and recruitment progressing well in Northland, there are still some opportunities for the technicians who haven't come on board to become owner operators.

Visionstream transition into Auckland and Northland will be completed by 1 October. They have managed Counties Manukau for the last three weeks and began in the North Shore on the 7 September. Today is their first day in Waitakere and Northland, and Central Auckland will move over from 21 September.
