The forecast weather and tidal movements for the week are not conducive to have a safe dive at the wreckage, believed to be The Governor at Yates Point, Fiordland.

At this stage the NZ Navy are unable to provide assistance due to other commitments of their vessels and staff.

The weather appears to be clearing at the weekend and plans are being made to use the NZ Police Dive Squad and a ROV vehicle Saturday and Sunday, but this is weather dependent.
