At approximately 3.20pm on Saturday 15 September Hawkes Bay Police attended a crash on Riverbend Road, Napier where a 19 year old male has been seriously hurt after being hit by a vehicle.

Witnesses at the scene have told Police that the male had just got out his vehicle when he ran around the front of it and into the side of another vehicle that had been passing.

The 19 year old has been thrown to the ground and has suffered serious head injuries. He was taken to the Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital via ambulance.

The Police Serious Crash Unit are investigating and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash and has yet to be spoken to by Police.
