The Government starts 2010 with a very full programme of reform in front of it.

On this day exactly a year ago, the 19th of November 2008, the new National-led Government was sworn into office.

I remember the awesome feeling of responsibility as I took my oath that day.

It's great to be here.

I'd like to thank Don Nicolson and members of your National Council for the opportunity to speak today.

And I'd like to acknowledge Dr Stephen Goldson, who works with my Chief Science Advisor, Professor Sir Peter Gluckman.

Business NZ welcomes the successful conclusion to Free Trade Agreement negotiations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which started in July 2007.

Meat & Wool New Zealand and the Meat Industry Association have welcomed news that the negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between New Zealand and the Gulf Cooperation Council (G.C.C.) have concluded.

A Free Trade Agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council, our seventh largest trading partner as a group, will provide an invaluable boost into Middle East markets according to the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce.
