Another Reason To Vote 'Yes': Police Statistics Confirm Child Discipline Law Protects Children Who Need It Most

The latest six-monthly Police statistics confirm that the public can have confidence in the child discipline law and the way it is being administered.

"The statistics released today show that Police have prosecuted fewer cases of smacking and minor physical discipline in the past six months, but more cases of other child assault. In all cases, Police advise that they have only taken action because of the range of circumstances combining to place children at risk. As such, the law is protecting those who need it most and this is positive news," said Deborah Morris-Travers, spokesperson for the Yes Vote coalition.

"These figures continue to demonstrate that Police are exercising the discretion affirmed in the law. While the law grants children the same legal protections as all other citizens have, Police are not prosecuting parents who lightly or occasionally smack their child. The legal opinion from the Human Rights Commission released this confirms the law is a necessary statute and is working well.

"Importantly, the law is consistent with government and community efforts to support parents to do their best for their children through the use of positive, non-violent, parenting techniques.

"The statistics released today affirm what members of the Yes Vote coalition have said many times the child discipline law is working well and parents have nothing to fear. This is yet another good reason to vote YES in the upcoming referendum," concluded Ms Morris-Travers.

Maybe so, but the police

Maybe so, but the police have still have to waste vluable time chasing up frivelous complaints when there are more serious crimes abounding!!

Nothing will be that

Nothing will be that accurate in the six months leading up to the referendum Dum Dum Travers Morris.

Everyone knows the self discipline CYFS has 'at the moment' in holding back on abusing good parents.

All will fade after the law is set in concrete having failed a referendum and we can monitor the societal slide as we follow the same clear crime rise stats as Sweden has.

Then we will see the same marked bump in about 14- 17 years as the first effected by discipline deprivaed upbringing become able to be convicted for violent crimes....where parents "carnt du narfing about narfing or the kids call CYFS on them" they don't learn that anyone can do "narfing".

BUT RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS AND A HONEST AND RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT CAN.

Key obey the vote and save the future...we all know the damage is not instant. But it is huge..see Sweden's 1500% violent crime leap for the proof. Biggest marked jump 15 years after criminalisation of discipline.
Lets put an end to the foolish psychobabble of the Sues and Helens and Deborahs that will blindly tear down society for imaginations of fluffy good.

So the law is having no

So the law is having no effect by your own conclusions and violence to kids is rising!?!?

How is that a law working..!

Your proof that it is working is that it is not having any effect?

That their have been less smacking cases in teh last 6 months just points to the fear that CYFS and people wanting to use the law later are sitting on their hands until they can lay their hands on parents without a referendum in the pipeline.

Lies are not stats It is a lie how CYFs is using it now as opposed to how it will be used and how it is used to day in other countries.

By the way....No parent fears conviction on their records anywhere as much as their children being messed up by CYFS or worse being taken to please some bent hippy spawn sociologist bents.

The power of this law is NOT in convictions!

..and everyone who cares knows that....Convictions are a non issue.

It is State Kidnapping of our children without any legal recourse or protection from these Pied Piper Sociopsychopaths who run the policy at CYFS etc.

Ha? Working!..NOT!!!

Ha? Working!..NOT!!!

Violence to children continues to increase...!
More Frustrated parents I guess??
